The following is from U F Florida Hardcore Volume 1 Issue 2 - June 1987

I've seen them a couple of times, and they impressed me, with their interesting brand of punk-core. They're a new band from the Florida Hardcore Scene. Here's an interview with their vocalist Tony:

WHAT'S THE CURRENT LINE-UP?

I'm on vocals, Tony, Al Gross on guitar, Adel on bass and Maui on drums - who also sings in Genetic Mistake.

WHO WRITES YOUR MATERIAL?

Well, our music is a joint effort from the whole band. We all come up with the music, and I write the lyrics.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER THE BAND?

We're a hardcore band with a seventies punk influence with an extremely open mind, meaning if we like it we'll play it.

SO WHO ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

Influences range from Social Distortion, Negative Trend and Bad religion, to Germs and Black Flag. Others we're into are Exploted, Discharge, Broken Bones, even Nuclear Assault and Slayer. We even dig Vice Squad, Buzzcocks, Generation X and the oldies like Sex pistols.

WHAT ARE YOUR SONGS ABOUT?

Some of our songs deal with daily life, while some are just plain fun. We are rarely one-sided or negative, but they do reflect our views.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?

To play as much as possible, meet lots of people, party with everyone and have fun in the process.

ARE ANY OF YOU STRAIGHT EDGE?

Basically, no. We have our lives in order, but we like to party. We just don't go overboard. Adel's looking into it because he puts too much bullshit in his system. I think he wants to cleanse himself.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE LOCAL SCENE?

It's a good scene that's beginning to grow. It has lots of good local bands, and I expect it to improve a lot more. Maybe, if some people would accept others for who they are, and not for what they look like, the scene would be much better. After all some styles are good for some and for others just a pose. If we all looked and acted the same we'd be conforming - and no better than what we are trying to rebel against. Being different is what makes us all individuals and special, yet united under one scene.

ANY COMMENTS?

Yeah! Support your local scene, after all, it's the only one you're in.
