Questions FHF gets e-mailed
over and over,
and now attempting to clear the air and lessen the hate mail.
Q: "What is Feast of Hate and Fear anyway?"
A: FoHaF (or FHF) was a fanzine I had put out from 1990 until 2000. Now it's a web-project which encompasses all of my newer projects with music, writing and art, as well as interviews and some articles from the old fanzine. I guess you can say it's a webzine, record label, and a publishing arm - but also so much more.
Q: "What's with the moniker, A156?"
A: It's not a gang thing, as most seem to wonder. 156 happens to have esoteric meaning in certain religious systems (ie - The Scarlet Whore). Oh, and if you're wondering what my real name is, well... A. Souto, Adel 156. You can't figure that out?
Q: "Who are you?"
A: I'm just a guy who did a 'zine ages ago. Played in some bands. Put on shows every so often. Personally? I'm an American-Spaniard who hates that English is taking over the world as an International Language, as well as American Imperialism, yet I am embarassed to have forgotten so much of my mother tongue of Spanish. I'm a fucking enigma, that's who I am.
Q: "Why does your website look like shit?"
A: It doesn't. Most people prefer pretty pictures to look at, over actual reading material. Flash graphics are nice, but they take forever to load. When more than half of computer users have an internet connection of 56k (or less). The less a page takes to load the better. Besides, if you want to see beautiful things take a bike ride, or go camping.
Q: "Why do you use images of cigars and martinis if you don't smoke or drink?"
A: They are simple, yet powerful archetypes. The cigar is a lingam. Martini glass... a kunti. It's all coital. Read about symbolism. And, I do smoke - just not tobacco product.
Q: "Why does it take forever for you to release projects?"
A: A mixture of (current and ex) musician hassles, things getting put on the back-burner (ie - the SHROUD disc), artists / writers need to take their time with their work (as with the new magazine) and my own personal, and unfocused mania (my own bands and personal life).
Q: "What is the Archive Section?"
The Archive
Section of the FHF site is a small dossier on a few rare, extreme or banned
texts that should all be read in full to promote a healthy view of the world
in all its glories and pitfalls. There is no life without death? Yes. There
can't be love without the existence of hate. Sure.
But, we need to get beyond this. Transcend it. Many people already realize
the polarities in nature, but one shouldn't stop there.
Q: "Are you an Anarchist?"
A: No, I'm not. I'm not even a 'liberal', by it's present definition. Just because there are left-wing writings in the Archive Section does not mean I condone any left-wing philosophies.
Q: "Are you a Nazi?"
A: No, I'm not. I'm not even a Fascist, by it's true definition. Just because there are right-wing writings in the Archive Section does not mean I condone any right-wing philosophies.
Q: "Will you elaborate?"
A: Charles Manson once
said to me in an interview, "Left
wing, right wing - you need both wings to fly."
No direct government with complete social freedom, while maintaining a strict
social hierarchy and ruling class. Is that good enough for you?
If not, read Plato's Republic - it's pretty close.
Q: "I heard you are a member of the Church of Satan?"
A: Hmm... that could be
true. Even so, I don't worship the Devil.
The CoS believe Man is the only God, but still very much an animal - homodeus.
Satan (or ShTN) is a Hebrew word (meaning: adversary) and a title used
by the CoS to represent something.
Q: "What is this 'something'?"
A: Please read a book,
and stop looking for easy answers.
I cannot lead you by the hand, answering all the questions you are too lazy
to discover for yourself.
Q: "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
A: I'm not sure, but the bodies are starting to stink up the place.
