SHROUD

What was to be a one time project, began something new and confusing - a band like no other. Taking musicians, which would under no other circumstance form a musical outfit, and put them together with one simple rule: hurt, smash and annoy. This is the story of SHROUD. On New Years Eve, four freaks got together - Adel 156 (of Timescape Zero), Robert Boyle (of Swivel Stick), Jimmy Taylor (studio jazz drummer) and Bevin (a trance DJ) with the plan to make the funkiest, yet most painful music they could play in 45 minutes without learning a single song. Thus was born improvisational jazz punk. Their music was so loved by everyone in attendance...

they were asked to open for UNSANE at Uncle Sams Music Cafe a few weeks later.

After this show they would go into the studio, improvise six new and totally unrehearsed songs and then liquidate SHROUD!

Out of print since 1994, their CD EP "Suicide Mission", has been called "Ugly and sickly influenced by such fuckers as Man Is The Bastard and Eyehategod, Shroud go for a twisted sound that is bass heavy and sinister. The lyrics ranged from political to sick 'n' twisted. Hmmm..." - Kent McClard of HeartattaCk Magazine

A limited CD re-release of "Suicide Mission" will be available from Feast of Hate and Fear in 2005.
