Violent Deed was south Florida's first real hardcore band.

I played bass for Mourning Death and was aksed to join VD on vocals when their original singer, Diego quit. We had a NY hardcore sound, when that sound was not yet the rage here. Years before that would be the trend, the locals listened to punk and older hardcore like Circle Jerks, Exploited, Dead Kennedys and Misfits.

We spawned a new school in Miami hardcore with bands like Ego Trip, Hangman, Young Americans, Beyond Reason, etc.

We made friends with the greatest people, and were openers for the best bands coming through this town; 7 Seconds, Government Issue, Youth of Today's last U.S. show - even a few death metal acts... Death and Death Angel.

We recorded a cassette demo, Negativity. No cover, no lyric sheet, 6 studio recordings, 8 live songs, handed out at no charge.

We split up months after due to 'creative differences'... no really.

I went on to whatever I'm doing now.

In 1989, Danny (bassist) went on to Powerhouse (who did a 7" on New Age Records).
Later starting, and still a member of, the sludge gods gift to punk rock, Cavity.

Scott (guitars) also went on to Powerhouse. Moving on to drums for Chickenhead in 1991, then back to guitar starting (the joke-straight edge band) Straight Youth, later playing in the punk outfit, Los Canadians (all of which had 7"es on 4 1/2 Finger Records).
