1 - Tell us how
your project(s) were started.
The Burning Paris began in 2000 after our other bands all broke up. We decided to play together because we were all friends and had a desire to do something different musically. So far it's been more successful than any of our other previous efforts. go figure.........
2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?
Music is a tough thing to quantify. It has to be about expression. I believe it should be emotional and be full of expression. It's got to mean something to ther artist creating it and the person hearing it. That is the bond of music. Without that, it's useless. Though, on the same token musicians should create music for themselves, and not just so that people will like them better, or to be part of a scene. Use it as a tool to express a feeling or an idea. When you can convincingly do that, you will always find a fan in me.
3 - What does art,
in it's entirety, mean to you?
Art in it's entirety is not all that different than music really. It's an expression, and art can be anything from a logo, an aesthetic, a performance, a found object. Unfortunately just like music, not every piece of art or idea of art is very well recieved. But it should always be created.
4 - Who is your
favorite author, and why?
I'd have to say that my favorite author as of late is Charles Bukowski. And I say that not because I am a complete fan of every thought or idea he writes of. But because of the way he writes. The eloquence in the way that he is able to describe a situation, no matter how horrific or un P.C. it tends to be. He enevr fails to raise my eyebrow and make me visualize a situation...even if i wanted to or not.
5 - As your best
friend, describe yourself.
One who tries to accomplish way too much in way too short amount of time.
6 - As your worst
enemy, describe yourself.
Not very forgiving to people that have walked on me.
7 - If you were
immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?
The Green Lantern. ( I have no idea why.)
8 - Do you think
there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?
There's conspiracies against all of us. But I think it's not so much against any one sort of person. Life is somewhat of a conspiracy, as none of us really know why we're here or how to get through this existence the right way. All we can do is try.
9 - What do you
do with your spare or free time?
Make websites, run a record label (www.dopamine-records.com), buy too many records, go to shows, spend time with friends.
10 - Please give
us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".
The meaning of life??? I can hardly figure out the meaning in each day. If anyone figures it out, please let me know.
