1 - Tell us how your project(s) were started.
The Oath started when myself and Mark McCoy went on a vacation to visit friends in Holland. We decided to write and record a project EP, and then because of the response we toured, then wrote another record... then toured then wrote again.
Gloom Records started after a band I was in (Devoid of Faith) had problems with some labels that we were dealing with. I started the label to insure that things with the band were done properly.
2 - What does music, in it's entirety, mean to you?
It's a way to express or vent frustrations, anger, etc. Keeps some of us from killing people.
3 - What does art, in it's entirety, mean to you?
Not much... I mean I think anything can be considered art, and that if it evokes some sort of emotion or interest in someone then its "important", I guess.
4 - Who is your favorite author, and why?
Chuck Palahniuk. I think he has been able to spark interest in reading for maybe men, who were never all that interested in reading. That's important to me. I also like the way he developes the main characters in his books. They always start off the same, as outsiders in a fucked up situation.
5 - As your best friend, describe yourself.
I really can't, I'm sorry.
6 - As your worst enemy, describe yourself.
An asshole, I guess.
7 - If your persona were immortalized as a cartoon character, who would it be?
Joe Matt from Peepshow (the comic).
8 - Do you think there are conspiracies against the "everyday person"?
Advertising, etc is all that comes to mind. But I think that people that fall for that shit kinda deserve to be manipulated I guess. I think its common sense when advertisers are trying to brainwash or market to certain demographics. It doesn't make sense to me that people by into it.
9 - What do you do with your spare or free time?
Hang out with my girlfriend, draw comics, work on my distro/mailorder (Gloom Records), watch and collect horror/slasher/gore films.
10 - Please give us your interpretation of "the meaning of life".
My meaning I guess would be just to enjoy life, not getting hung up on money, houses, cars, or other material things that might put you in a situation to always have to make more money to buy more and newer things. It's a trap. Spend time wisely, with people you love because life really is short.
